THE DRUMCONDRA MEDICAL TEAM
Drumcondra Medical is owned and operated by husband and wife team Dr Brian King and Dr Sinéad Cronin. We believe in offering patient centred, evidence informed care in a welcoming environment.

Our Administrative staff of Pam, Maeve, Tia and Rebecca are on hand to help book appointments and answer any queries you may have. They are supported by Cathy, our Practice Manager.

Nurses Jackie and Rebecca are available for a range of services including phlebotomy, smear taking, baby vaccines and administration of Prolia and other injections. They also run our Chronic Disease Management clinic.
PRACTICE NEWS

Goodbye and thank you, Loretta
Today we bid a fond farewell to Loretta who retires from Drumcondra Medical after 16 years of service to the local community. We will miss you, Loretta! Don’t be a stranger!

NOTICE OF NON-ATTENDANCE FEE
Due to a dramatic increase in patients failing to attend for booked appointments we are introducing a non-attendance fee.

If you fail to attend or do not give us 24 hours notice (Friday notice required for Monday appointments), a non-attendance fee of €30 will be applied to your account. This fee will need to be paid before another appointment will be offered to you.

We are a busy medical practice and always have people waiting for appointments.

WELCOME DR BARBARA GILES
From July 2024 we will have Dr Barbara working with us. Dr Barbara is a fully qualified doctor in the final stages of her postgraduate training to become a GP.
Dr Aine has now completed her year of postgraduate training with us and we wish her all the very best for the future.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR THE FREE CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME?
If you are over 18 years of age, have a valid GMS or GP visit card, can attend the surgery and have one or more of the following conditions you are eligible to participate.

~ Type 2 Diabetes
~ Asthma
~ Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
~ Heart Failure
~ Angina
~ Stroke
~ Irregular heart beat (Atrial fibrillation)

The programme involves a free, structured appointment with the GP and the practice nurse twice a year. Here, we will specifically focus on your chronic conditions. The aim of the programme is to take a more detailed view at you and these specific conditions. This will hopefully result in early detection of a change in your condition, reducing visits to hospital.
